Julian Friers PRUA
Valentia Exhibition
Julian is currently working on an exhibition of the wildlife of south west Kerry to be held in a new gallery on the beautiful island of Valentia. The show is due to open on the 8th of August and run for one week after which it moves to the Killarney Art Gallery for a further week. Images will include whales and dolphins, a bit of a departure from the land based (or air based!) animals with which we are more familiar. The spectacular scenery of Valentia Island has been the inspiration for much of Julian’s work over the last few years. It has been a regular destination for reference gathering at all times of the year.

President of the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts
At the recent Annual General Meeting of the RUA Julian was elected their new President. He follows in this prestigious appointment artists who include Sir John Lavery, William Connor and Rosamund Praeger. He hopes, during his three year term, to help raise the profile of this historic organisation a little further.
